I wrote this in early October of 2013. I’m not sure if this poem is trying to say that cybernetics is cool or scary…or both. Realistically, I suppose the concept of cybernetics is both cool and scary. It has a potential to be a positive transformation. And yet, in the wrong hands, it would be a devastatingly awful thing to unleash on the world.

Cybernetic (This New Invention)
we’ve made this new invention
it’s cell-sized and glorious
it’s tiny and wonderful
and it will change your life
storing data, chewing numbers
drawing original scenes
measuring everything in a flash
if you can think it, you can be it
it’s something more perfect than you
making you more perfect than you
you’ve bought this new perfection
you’ve grown to be powerful
you’ve overcome all your faults
and you can’t be more free
scoring higher, crunching numbers
meeting magnificent goals
controlling every part of your fate
cybernetic perfection if you can think it, you can be it cybernetic perfection it’s something more perfect than you making you more perfect than you cybernetic perfection
I grew up with a free and open internet. I found my friends and my family there. I will not allow this attack on our way of life to go uncontested. The internet is, first and foremost, a tool for communications.
#StoptheFCC from redefining it as yet another way for companies to control what we see and know. Call, write letters, make a ruckus. :D

Thanks for coming by! I hope life is being good to you. I know sometimes life is cruel, so here's a *hug* from someone who cares.
